Providence, RI - Five Brown fencers - Avery Nackman '13 (Cross River, NY), Cory Abbe '13 (Scappoose, OR), Laney Caldwell (Indian Springs, AL), Andrew Pintea (New York, NY), and Kelly McGuire (Park City, UT) - will compete in the USA-Korea Elite fencing Invitational in Busan, Korea, August 4-6, 2011.
The competition's main goal is to develop awareness of the sport of fencing and to bring closer the relationship between Korean and United States' student- athletes, and to to provide a tremendous cultural experience.
Nackman, an NCAA competitor, and Pinta will compete in foil, while Abbe, who finished 17th at the NCAA's, Caldwell, McGuire will be featured in the epee competition.
