ITHACA, N.Y. ??Five Cornell fencers have been selected to participate in the Korea-USA Elite Fencing Invitational (KUEFI), held in Busan, South Korea from August 14-19. Rebecca Hirschfeld, Beverly Yang, Audrey Speer, Christine McIntosh, April Whitney and Big Red head coach Iryna Dolgikh will make the trip to represent the USA. 

?�We feel very fortunate to have several Big Red fencers selected and are very grateful to KUEFI organizers for the funding provided to promote and develop the sport of fencing internationally,??said Dolgikh. ?�This is a great opportunity for our team members to fence in this prestigious international competition.??/p>

Beginning in 2011, KUEFI was created to promote and develop fencing in Korea by introducing the public to top fencers from the United States, while giving US fencers an opportunity to experience Korean Culture. In addition to three days of fencing, the student-athletes will tour Busan, the second largest city in South Korea.
